Biography:
Since I was little I always wanted to be a teacher, (to follow in my dad’s footsteps) but after a while I began to show interest in a career in the medical field. I have always been interested in sports and participated in track and cross country throughout high school. Unfortunately, I sustained a back injury during my first year of cross country and had to endure the pain throughout my whole high school career. I saw various doctors and chiropractors and finally was sent for physical therapy. I looked at what my therapists made me do and what they did on a daily basis and thought, “I could do that!” I liked how physical therapy would allow me to still “teach” but also incorporate my sports background and interest in medicine. The fact that every day would present new challenges peaked my interest. I was also excited about working with people of all ages, and best of all, I would be able to help people when they needed help most. My back injury ended up being a blessing in disguise since it helped me decide on the right career path. I now have many years of clinical experience behind me, and I have not regretted my decision once.
